Rajinikanth had swelling in blood vessel, to be discharged in 2 days: Hospital

Superstar Rajinikanth was hospitalised in Chennai on Monday, Septembr 30. The hospital has now released a medical bulletin about his health. The statement shared by the hospital mentioned that Thalaivar had a swelling in a major blood vessel connecting to his heart and doctors had to perform a non-surgical procedure to fix it.
The bulletin, released by Apollo Hospitals situated on Greams Road in Chennai, shared that a stent was put inside the actor’s heart to seal-off the swelling. It further mentioned that Rajinikanth was doing well and would be discharged from the hospital in a few days.
The full bulletin read, “Mr Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method. Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days (sic).”
Earlier, the actor’s wife, Latha Rajinikanth, told the media that “all is well” and refused to share any more details about his health.
The 73-year-old was admitted to the hospital after he reportedly complained of stomach pain.
The actor is meanwhile gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Vettaiyan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the film also features Amitabh Bachchan in an important role. It is slated to hit the screens on October 10. The superstar is also shooting for his next, titled Coolie.
